Soccer Homework – Ball manipulation

Touching the ball consistently and efficiently with different parts of the foot. To complete the iSoccer Comfort Assessment, complete the following two exercises within the 5×5 (meter) grid.
1) Toe Taps: touch the ball with sole of your foot using alternating feet. Each touch counts as one point. You’re going to do this for 20 seconds. Record your score and get ready for the next assessment.
2) Foundations: using the inside of your foot, knock the ball back and forth. Each touch counts as one point. You’re going to do this for 20 seconds. Good work, you’ve completed the iSoccer Comfort Assessment exercises. Record your scores and complete the rest of the assessment.

As a reminder, this is what we look for with ball manipulation.

  • Ball Manipulation – the ability to ‘manipulate’ the ball in various directions when under pressure, when using feet and when using various surfaces of the foot i.e. inside, outside, lace, sole, toe, and heel.
